A panel of six senior figures from across the electronics industry has been confirmed to judge this year’s Electronics Excellence Awards, which return to electronica 2026 in Munich this November. The awards, hosted by Electronic Specifier, will be presented on the Hall C6 stage on Tuesday, 10th November at 12:30pm.
Now in its fifth year since debuting at electronica in 2022, the programme has become known within the sector for the independence and rigour of its judging process, recognising standout product and technology achievements over the preceding twelve months.
The judging panel:
Dunstan Power co-founded embedded design consultancy ByteSnap Design in 2008 alongside former colleague Graeme Wintle. A chartered electronics engineer since graduating from Cambridge University, he has practised across the industry since the early 1990s, and ByteSnap’s client base now stretches from the UK to Australia.
At Menlo Micro, Jackie Rutter holds the role of Vice President of Corporate Marketing, directing global communications and growth strategy for the company’s switching technology used in AI data centres, aerospace, defence, and quantum computing. Her career spans over 25 years across marketing, sales, and engineering internationally.
Mark Patrick leads technical content production for Mouser Electronics across the EMEA region, having previously worked in supplier marketing, semiconductor sales, and hands-on engineering roles. He holds a first-class honours degree in Electronics Engineering from Coventry University.
Roger Thornton, Director of Applications Engineering at Raspberry Pi, has been involved in designing multiple generations of the company’s flagship computer. He played a role in taking Raspberry Pi to IPO in 2024 and now sits on its sustainability committee, having also secured the firm’s Green Economy Mark.
Representing DigiKey, Stéphane Ratelet serves as Director of Sales and Support/Digital Solutions for EMEA, where he oversees regional strategy and partner integrations supporting customers’ digital transformation. He has been with the company since 2014.
Rounding out the panel is Trevor Smith, a Test & Measurement industry veteran of more than 50 years. He joined Pico Technology in 2013 as Worldwide Sales Manager, helping grow the award-winning PicoScope range, and continues to support the awards in a consultant capacity following his retirement.
Commenting on the announcement, Paige Hookway, Managing Editor of Electronic Specifier, said the strength of this year’s panel lies in its breadth: “Between them, these judges cover design, distribution, marketing, and test & measurement – which means every entry gets assessed by someone who genuinely understands the space it sits in.”
The awards were last presented at embedded world 2026 in Nuremberg, where winners were named across six categories: Power, Test & Measurement, Electromechanical, Software, Passive, and Semiconductor.
Entries for the 2026 programme are open now, with winners set to receive a promotional package worth more than £8,000 across Electronic Specifier’s print and digital channels. Early entry is recommended to secure maximum pre-show visibility.
