With a distinguished career spanning over five decades, Trevor Smith is a highly respected veteran of the electronics and Test & Measurement (T&M) industry.
Trevor began his journey in 1971 as an engineering apprentice at the British Aircraft Corporation (later BAe Systems). During his foundational years, he gained comprehensive experience across manufacturing, calibration, quality control, component reliability analysis, and test systems design. This technical grounding provided him with deep expertise in analog, digital, power, and RF technologies, culminating in an HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
In 1978, he transitioned to a commercial role with Philips Test & Measurement, specialising in digital test and microprocessor design tools. This move led him to Tektronix, where he dedicated the next 27 years of his career, initially in sales for the Semiconductor Test Systems division before progressing to sales management for high-performance test equipment.
In 2005, Trevor moved into a pivotal marketing role at Tektronix, where he spearheaded the market introduction of several industry-leading products. His successes include launching the first 20GHz real-time oscilloscopes, the pioneering MDO4000 series mixed-domain oscilloscopes, and the innovative TriMode oscilloscope probes.
Since 2013, Trevor has been an integral part of Pico Technology Ltd. He initially joined as the Worldwide Sales Manager, driving the global success of the company’s T&M products, including the acclaimed and award-winning PicoScope range. After a brief retirement in 2022, his enduring passion for the industry led him to return to Pico Technology, where he continues to contribute his expertise part-time in a product management role, shaping the next generation of PC-based test equipment.

Since joining Thales in July 2024, Vibishna has introduced innovative process and tool improvements, fostered cross-functional collaborations, championed inclusive leadership, and established structured development pathways for apprentices, interns, and graduates entering the electronics field.
In addition to her technical and leadership roles, Vibishna is a vocal advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM. Vibishna’s achievements have earned her wide recognition; she was recently shortlisted in four categories at the 2025 Women Leaders in Electronics Awards and was Highly Commended in the prestigious Woman of the Year category.
