At electronica 2024, Electronic Specifier will once again honor the industry’s top innovators with its Electronics Excellence Awards. First introduced at electronica in 2022, this award is recognized as the most rigorous and transparent in the field.
The judging panel for Electronic Specifier’s Electronics Excellence Awards is composed of carefully selected industry leaders and electronics experts. Each entry will undergo an independent evaluation and a thorough discussion by the judges. The entry with the highest score will be declared the winner.

The panel of judges includes:
James Davey, Vice President, Einfochips (an Arrow company) – EMEA
James, based in the UK, has over 18 years of experience in the electronics sector, holding senior regional and global roles in semiconductor design, engineering, field sales, and marketing at companies like Microchip, Toshiba, Cadence Design Systems, and most recently, Arrow Electronics.
Mark Patrick, Director of Technical Content for EMEA, Mouser Electronics
Mark oversees the creation and distribution of technical content across the region, a key component of Mouser’s strategy to support, inform, and inspire its engineering audience. Prior to this, he was part of Mouser’s EMEA Supplier Marketing team, playing a crucial role in developing relationships with key manufacturing partners. Mark’s background includes hands-on engineering, technical support, semiconductor technical sales, and various marketing positions. He holds a first-class Honors Degree in Electronics Engineering from Coventry University and is passionate about vintage synthesizers and British motorcycles.
Marta Barbero, Product Manager, Arduino
Marta, who joined Arduino in 2021, is responsible for the Arduino Pro Systems on Modules solutions as a Product Manager. With a Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Marta has experience managing the entire product lifecycle for autonomous guided vehicles at Comau, a company specializing in industrial automation and robotics.
Robert Owen, Consultant
Robert Owen has pioneered three of the world’s leading industry-to-university programs for Texas Instruments, Imagination Technologies, and RS Components, while also building a successful media business. He has overseen the development of educational materials that teach the next generation of engineers and programmers how to solve real-world problems using proven industrial technologies. With 30 years of experience in Industry-to-Academia collaboration, Robert brings a unique perspective to the field and has cultivated a vast global network.
Simran Khokha, Product Manager for MCUs, Infineon
Simran holds a dual MSc Degree in Electrical Engineering from NTU, Singapore, and TUM, Germany. She has five years of experience in consumer product technology with leading semiconductor companies, focusing on product development and design in the APAC region (Singapore) and product management and marketing in Europe (Germany). Her expertise spans various segments, including Automotive, IoT, and Consumer Electronics, and she has contributed to the development of innovative technologies like system-on-chip designs for AI/ML and self-driving cars. Her previous experience includes roles at AMD, STMicroelectronics, and Infineon.
Stéphane Ratelet, Director of Business Development/Digital Solutions – EMEA, DigiKey
Stéphane is responsible for developing and executing regional strategies to expand DigiKey’s market presence and enhance customer engagement. He manages relationships with third-party software partners and supports the integration of direct API connections to help customers with their digital transformation efforts. Since joining DigiKey in 2014, Stéphane has held various roles, including International API Champion and Business Development Manager for France. He also has over 10 years of experience in electronic sales and engineering from EPIQ, ETRI, and RS Components.
